We received a request on Facebook to answer this question.

How to release control and shift from resistance to cooperation.

Here's our answer... TRUST

Example:  Your teenage daughter has been begging you to go to the show with a group of friends from school. Your struggling with letting her go because you are concerned if the group is really going to the show. Your thoughts are spinning. Is there going to be any alcohol involved? You really don't know all the people she will be going to the show with. Will he/she be safe?

Is your mind spirally out of control because your in a situation you cannot control?

Feeling Thin Skinned? Over Exposed And Super Sensitive?

Feeling thin skinned? over sensitive? Your not alone. I'm hearing about it in all directions. People are impatient, over sensitive and over stimulated. Lives are being turned upside down right now.

Is it a sign of the times? I feel it very well could be. We are In a stage of deep individual and planetary growth. A time of faster frequencies and rapid manifestation. The time of truth is upon us.

Stop for a minute and think about all those around you. Are they grounded, balanced, comfortable with their life right now? Majority are not. We all just came through an election with a magnitude of bombarding information. Some have experienced hurricane Sandy physically and some energetically.

Parenting and the Law of Attraction By Christina Fletcher

"We are spiritual, resonating beings. What we feel sends off ripples through our being, and what we think about, the perspective from which we see what comes our way, create the feeling space we walk around in."

Oh, we've all been there. Those days when nothing seems to go right: our children can’t find their shoes, we run late, get stuck in traffic and then, of course, a diaper needs changing. Parenting can truly create the most frustrating scenarios, and they always seem to run in threads, when really, we can’t help but think the only thing we can do is let them run their course and hope we get to bed early. But then, usually someone is teething or sick and there’s no sleep to be had. What is behind the cycle and how do we break them? Oh sure, some may say it’s just bad luck, but is it really?

The Law of Attraction has been talked about in whispers for years and maybe a little louder lately. The principle behind it is “That like itself is drawn”, basically that something attracts more of the same, hence, the “run” of bad luck. When something frustrates us, and we really get frustrated, than we send out a clear signal of Frustration and the universe feels the signal, assumes we’re asking for more, and sends us more of the same. And more, and more, and more… until the signal is changed. I like to explain it to my children as how we feel acts like a giant magnet and it always pulls to us what’s the same as the magnet we’re holding up.

We are spiritual, resonating beings. What we feel sends off ripples through our being, and what we think about, the perspective from which we see what comes our way, create the feeling space we walk around in. The Law of Attraction picks that feeling space up and our day, and the things that fall in its way, is created.

Connecting To Who Our Children REALLY Are By Christina Fletcher

We are happy to share with you a beautiful guest article by Christina Fletcher.
Christina truly writes from a conscious parenting perspective. Enjoy!

We are all spiritual beings.

These bodies we carry around with us only represent us to the physical world. When we connect to Who We Really Are then we connect to each other too, as truly we are all one, part of the same whole. It goes for our children as well. So often society likes to put kids over in a corner labelled as “children” and we forget that their essence is the same as ours. They too, as spiritual beings, are born to experience life, try things out, form opinions, connect to everything they are at their Source and disconnect sometimes too, just to gain perspective on everything. Since they just got here, they remember very clearly how things are supposed to be. They know connection, they know where they’ve come from, and they know how it feels to be acting from a place of well being.

As parents we can help our children retain this natural knowledge and offer them tools for a happier, more aware life. Often, we have to relearn it ourselves, but being spiritually aware is really about becoming conscious on the importance of emotions and using the knowledge of them as indicators to how connected we really are. Spirit (us) is a positive energy force. Therefore, when we are connected we feel wonderful: we skip, we laugh,

Children's Book Review: Angel Archie To The Rescue!

Lisa Sheehy is so passionate about her part in taking care of mother nature that she has written a brand new children's book, Angel Archie To The Rescue.

Angel Archie is calling upon the children of the earth to educate their parents on how to green up the world.

At this time on planet earth there is an impending need for all of us to step up and do our part in being stewards of the earth.  Lisa is so driven to teach children and their parents about how to go about this, she so eloquently put together a must read children's picture book. Her message shines through with clear and concise instructions on how this can be achieved.

Angel Archie is so full of love and inspiration you can not help but want to follow along with him and start to create your own inspired creative journey.

It appears that the children that are being born in this time period are coming in hard-wired with a knowing of how to take care of our planet. These children are very protective, connected and have a need to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Teaching children how to use color for healing, protection and balancing.

One of the best tools a parent or caregiver can teach a child is how to safely and proactively set up energetic boundaries with color. Everything is energy. We all have an energetic body and run on different frequencies. There are numerous resources on the web about the energy body, chakras, frequency and using light for healing. To keep it simple we are just going to focus on the main techniques to teach children how to create healthy energetic boundaries using color for health, happiness and protection.

As your child moves through her daily activities. He will come across situations and people who may resonate at a different frequency. This can feel uncomfortable and unsettling. Sometimes your child may feel unwell and need some added assistance rejuvenating and healing his body. When schedules get over piled and activities accelerated, becoming unbalanced is inevitable. Here are a few color techniques to show your children to help them stay balanced, healthy and safe energetically.

Have your child sit or stand and close their eyes.

Easy Halloween Costumes You Can Make With Your Kids

When my children were younger and even as they entered their teen years I either couldn’t afford or couldn’t justify buying Halloween costumes. Most were so poorly made or extremely expensive. I am not saying that I haven’t purchased them from time to time because I have. There’s always that one that your child just has to have. Most of our Halloween costumes we’ve made and made together. The children enjoy watching and participating in creating and are always especially excited about Halloween costumes. It is so much fun coming up with ideas and listening to the ideas the children come up with. I’ve found that they are amazed that I have so many skills, even though the costumes ideas do not require much craftiness on my part! If I can do it, anyone can do it! Here are just a few costume ideas.

Simple Feng Shui Inspired Environmental Considerations for Children’s Health in the Home. By: Sherry Burton Ways

Feng Shui is a powerful tool to create a healthy, loving safe environment for children no matter what room they are in your home.  Emotional and physical support using Feng Shui can enhance all the stages in a child’s development.

So what is Feng Shui?  Feng Shui is pronounced ‘Fung Shvee’ and literally translated means ‘wind and water.’  It embodies the 7,000 year old ancient Chinese art of placement which balances and enhances the environment.

I invite you to be a Feng Shui detective and analyze using your intuition and senses things about your home to ensure it is healthy and vibrant for continued growth and production for your child.

First, think about or observe whether or not your child is having trouble breathing or has asthma or other concerns.  If he or she does, ask:
What is the air quality like in your child’s room or the entire home as a whole?  Have you checked your home’s ventilation system?  Do your air ducts need to be cleaned out or replaced?  I was working with a client who informed me that her daughter was having a lot of allergies.  This concerned me.  As we began a total redesign of her home, we learned that the air ducts were never cleaned in her home and was in serious need for replacement.  In addition, one of the air ventilation system was located just outside her bedroom door!

Ways to combat indoor air pollution to protect your family:

  • Do not smoke or allow smokers in your home
  • Get your chimney cleaned regularly and your appliances serviced
  • Open windows at different sides of the home to create cross ventilation
  • Seal cracks in floor edges, pipes and walls especially basement
  • Buy an air-filter.
  • Use safe non toxic cleaning materials

We all live with electrical appliances.  However, do we really understand what the effects are of these appliances in our home and to our children?  The entire earth is permeated by magnetic lines of energy that criss-cross over its surface.  These lines are similar to our nervous system along which travels natural radiation or the electro-magnetic field otherwise known as EMFs.  Millions of adults and children may face an increased risk of cancer and other diseases because they are exposed to electro-magnetic radiation from power lines and household electrical appliances.  Even electrical disturbances from electronic equipment in your child’s bedroom can increase the risk of disease as well as sleep deprivation.  These include things like computers, televisions, radios, alarm clocks, CD players, bedside lights, etc.  You want to keep these items at a minimum or at least in a closed armoire or cabinet so these do not affect the health of your child.

There are several ways you can reduce the positive ions in your home that may be harmful to your child:
  • Keep electrical equipment away from your child’s bed
  • Get an ioniser
  • Keep a comfortable indoor humidity by ventilating to the outside.
  • Use less electrical equipment
  • Burn cleansing and purifying aromatherapy oils.

Next  assess the clutter level of your home and your childs room.  It is generally a rule that children watch and emmulate adult behavior.  So let’s examine whether or not you are living a clutter free lifestyle.  You see, in the world of Feng Shui, clutter does not allow for the free circulation of good energy in the home.  When energy circulates, responses and moves about a space it will clog up or become depleted when too much clutter is in place.  This does not create a good situation for anyone including your child in the home.

Some things to do to create a clutter free environment for your child:
  • Take time to clear any clutter in spaces outside the child’s room
  • Create a clear system of organization to clear out your child’s clutter.  Toy boxes, shelving and other systems are great to implement and are not very expensive- check out resources and products at stores like Target or IKEA.
  • Teach your child a clear and simple organization system in a way that will  help them to stick to it.
  •  Allow for patience and time to use whatever system you come up with so that your child get’s acclimated to it.  Reward your child in some healthy way when the system is used successfully.

The main feng shui goal in transforming living spaces into healthy ones for children is to create a healthy, loving and safe environment for all who enter.
